Project/HV Engineer
Our Client believes in ensuring that all its engineers and technicians are furnished with the relevant training, qualifications and most importantly experience, to enable tasks to be completed safely, to the highest standards and on time. This is a permanent position and the starting pay rate for this position is dependent on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inspection and Maintenance of LV/HV Substation equipment.
2. Protection Testing.
3. HV/LV jointing including specialist cable terminations.
4. Troubleshooting/fault finding.
5. Installation of switchgear and transformers.
6. Testing of Earthing and associated equipment.
7. Produce remedial works quotations.
8. Compile Work Packages, Job Instructions and RAMS.
9. Coordinating the work of technicians, craftspeople and sub-contractors.
10. Manage individual project resource allocation.
11. Liaise with clients, stakeholders and other interested parties to ensure individual project objectives, deliverables and expectations are managed/maintained.
12. Ensuring that individual projects meet safety requirements/regulations.
13. Ensuring that individual projects meet technical system performance requirements.
14. Planning and executing of HV Switching, isolation, earthing up to 33kV.
15. Ensuring safety from the system – issuing of permits and safety documentation in accordance with company/customer safety rules and operational procedures.
16. Testing installations and systems, analysing test data and compiling test reports.
Suitable candidate will ideally have:
HNC in Electrical Engineering ideally in Power Distribution, or the equivalent.
Experience in Private Networks and or the Renewable Energy sector.
Familiarity with all relevant current Health & Safety Legislations.
GWO Certifications for onshore wind farm work.
Emergency First Aid & Manual Handling.
Full Clean Driving License.
Good IT skills.
