Job Description:
Test Solution Design Engineer
Your impact
Are you interested in designing and developing advanced test solutions for some of the most innovative defence and aerospace projects in the UK? If you like the sound of delivering electronic test solutions for platforms such as the Eurofighter Typhoon, then we would like to hear from you.
We are looking for an experienced Test Solution Design Engineer to join our well-established Test Engineering community at our Edinburgh based site. You will play a pivotal role in the design, development and integration of test solutions that supports our industry-leading contribution to Radar programmes and wider defence capabilities.
What you’ll bring
As a Test Solution Design Engineer, you will:
* Support the creation and delivery of test solutions within a defined work package area, ensuring that the solution meets all stakeholder requirements across performance, cost and schedule.
* Capture, analyse and mature stakeholder needs, associating priority, interest and influence to determine the optimum technical approach to solving complex engineering challenges.
* Design and development of electronic hardware solutions across the full design lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to integration, verification and qualification.
* Produce high-quality design documentation and technical reports, ensuring configuration control and compliance with relevant standards and processes.
* Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment with other elements of the programme.
* Contribute to the resolution of emerging technical issues by proposing and driving through robust solutions, escalating more complex risks and supporting the identification of opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
* Develop, coach, mentor and upskill engineers within the wider engineering community, promoting best practice in electronic design.
* Experience working across the full design lifecycle.
This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
