Band 6 - Senior Radiographer - shift system, Radiology

We have an opportunity for a dedicated senior radiographer to join our team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
This is a full-time position that involves working within our shift system, which includes long days, nights, and weekends, offering flexibility with days off during the week.
You will have the opportunity to work across our three sites: Watford, St Albans, and Hemel Hempstead.
Our facilities are well-equipped with six CT scanners, three MRI scanners, 10 DR mobile units, and 10 DR general rooms.
Exciting developments are underway at our Trust: a new, bespoke interventional suite is being constructed at the Watford site, enhancing our fluoroscopy services and creating opportunities for professional growth and role development. Our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in St Albans is progressing rapidly, with work beginning soon. This will expand our capacity with additional CT, MRI, and plain film imaging.
We welcome applications from current Band 5 Radiographers who have completed the relevant competencies required to progress to a Band 6 role.
Main duties of the job
The duties and responsibilities of the post holder include:
* Being an effective member of the Radiology team, providing a high standard of imaging services to Radiologists and patients.
* Mentoring junior staff and students.
* Completing and record keeping of QA testing.
* Following IRMER17 regulations whilst undertaking radiology examinations to a high standard.
* Candidates must be strong communicators who share our trust values.

Person Specification
Education and qualifications:
* Either DCR(R) or BSc Radiography. Attendance at mandatory training sessions.
* Evidence of up-to-date CPD.
* HCPC registration.
* PgD in a cross-sectional modality.
Knowledge:
* Good knowledge of adaptive techniques.
* Aware of current trends relevant to the profession.
* Public sector/NHS knowledge.
Experience:
* Post qualification experience across a range of modalities.
* Wide range of experience in CT.
* NHS experience.
