Position: Buyer
Location: Falkirk
Type: Permanent
Pay Rate: £35,000 plus 15% salary bonus
Company Details: Established in 1984, our client is a leading turnkey engineering services business providing end-to-end solutions in design engineering, fabrication, construction, industrial services, and asset integrity.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Manage all commercial aspects of allocated suppliers, including key supplier management for various commodities.
2. Drive cost reduction initiatives through negotiation.
3. Manage suppliers via a ratings system.
4. Conduct supplier reviews, audits, and negotiate agreements.
5. Support all commercial activities within the purchasing environment, including New Product Introductions (NPI).
6. Ensure supply chain processes are fit for purpose.
7. Handle NPI responsibilities.
8. Prepare end-of-month reports.
9. Collaborate with the material controller and support as required.
Candidate Requirements:
* Supplier-focused with excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Strong reporting and negotiating skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Commercial judgment and contract management skills.
* Proficiency in Excel; MRP knowledge is advantageous.
* Knowledge of importing materials and parts is a plus.
* Experience in a purchasing environment preferred.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
* HNC qualification or working towards it is preferred.
