An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Practice Development Nurse to join our highly motivated team within our Emergency Department at Queen’s Hospital.
We are seeking an enthusiastic nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality care in partnership with staff, patients, and their relatives. The appointed candidate will undertake clinical educational duties, attend training, and participate in meetings beneficial to their role.
As part of the BHRUT and Barts Health collaboration, there are numerous opportunities for development and training, including leadership courses, access to Masters and other training programs, as well as in-house training. Additionally, there is an opportunity to develop teaching skills as part of the departmental education program.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Support changes in nursing practice within the A&E department based on evidence, research, audit findings, and best practice, to improve patient outcomes and KPIs.
2. Collaborate with the Matron, Senior Nurses, Sisters, and Charge Nurses in assessing and auditing staff clinical skills.
3. Work with the Matron and senior staff to address underperformance, providing objective assessments, action plans, and performance reviews.
4. Provide written reports on individuals' ability to perform according to the NMC Code of Conduct.
5. Offer professional nursing advice and guidance.
6. Assist the Matron and senior staff in resolving issues to enhance patient experience.
7. Develop and contribute to teaching programs.
8. Maintain a high clinical profile through visible presence and support within the department, while working clinically to keep skills and knowledge up to date.
