Main Purpose of Job:
As a Retrofit Assessor & Surveyor, your primary responsibility is to conduct retrofit assessments, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), and technical surveys to support the delivery of energy efficiency and renewable installations. You will ensure compliance with industry standards, health and safety regulations, and project specifications across East Sussex, Kent, West Sussex, and South London.
The role requires that you attend occasional training courses, conferences, and meetings that may necessitate staying away from home overnight.
Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability:
* Carry out detailed retrofit assessments in line with PAS 2035 requirements.
* Produce accurate and compliant EPCs for domestic properties.
* Identify suitable energy efficiency measures based on property characteristics and occupant needs.
Technical Surveys & Reporting
* Conduct technical surveys for ASHP, Solar PV, IWI, RIR, Loft, Cavity Wall, and Floor Insulation, as well as heating and controls.
* Visit prospective sites to assess suitability and provide detailed reports for project planning.
* Submit accurate and timely survey documentation to the office.
* Lodging works and reports through our client's corporate ECMK / Core Logic account.
Additional Responsibilities:
Project Supervision & Quality Control
* Provide on-site supervision to ensure high-quality workmanship and timely project delivery.
* Conduct site visits, inspections, and audits to assess compliance with specifications and health and safety requirements.
* Facilitate site handovers and ensure completion of documentation.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
* Liaise professionally with clients, subcontractors, installers, and colleagues.
* Handle daily calls, complaints, and enquiries, ensuring effective responses.
* Report issues and assist in developing practical solutions.
Team Support & Compliance
* Support field staff with training and regulatory compliance.
* Conduct van checks and assist with warehouse organisation.
* Coordinate labour and subcontractor resources.
Administrative Duties
* Maintain and organise your diary for efficient scheduling.
* Attend site and project meetings, contributing to technical discussions.
* Perform additional duties as required to support operational needs.
Essential Requirements:
Prior residential retrofit assessment experience essential, e.g. ECO4 or GBIS.
* At least some working knowledge of PAS2035 legislation and guidelines.
* A relevant qualification, e.g DEA (Domestic Energy Assessor).
* NVQ holder in fabric measures (training plan can be provided).
* Full UK car driving licence and meet our insurers requirements for cover.
* Flexibility to travel to different UK locations every week, with overnight stays when required.
* A positive outlook, along with good communication and written skills.
* Capable of acting swiftly in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a proactive, problem-solving approach to unforeseen challenges.
* Strong commitment to ensuring installations are completed 'Right First Time'.
* Assessor will be based on site and will work Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
