Clinical Trials Coordinator – Research & Development
Job ref 361-7989830. NHS Band 4, Fixed‑term 12 months, Full‑time 37.5 hrs/week. Closing date 03/06/2026 23:59.
Location: Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, Northwood, London.
Salary: £28,392 – £31,157 per annum plus a 15 % High‑Cost Area Supplement (minimum £4 870, maximum £6 137 pro‑rata).
Job overview
The Clinical Trials Coordinator supports the research team by managing all aspects of clinical trials administration in accordance with Good Clinical Practice, SOPs and trust policies.
Main duties of the job
* Assist with the efficient setup and daily management of clinical trials.
* Maintain databases and spreadsheets, producing monthly progress reports on recruitment.
* Track and raise invoices, identify discrepancies and escalations.
* Manage workload for daily trial activity, including case report form completion and amendment processing to meet internal and external deadlines.
* Support quality assurance of all trial‑related documentation in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
* Assist with preparation for audits and inspections within assigned teams.
* Handle general trial‑related communication in line with the Data Protection Act.
Person specification
Qualifications / Training
* Diploma or equivalent and/or relevant research experience.
* Relevant training courses in clinical research.
Previous Experience
* Experience working in a healthcare setting.
* Experience in clinical trial administration, including data management.
Skills
* Good organisational skills.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Understanding of case report forms.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of the clinical trials process.
* Familiarity with GCP guidelines and EU directives.
* Understanding of medical terminology.
* Knowledge of patient information systems.
