With people at the heart of everything they do, the organisation is committed to supporting both employees and learners to achieve their full potential.This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, values-driven team that is passionate about empowering individuals through education and skills development.The Essential Skills Assessor will provide comprehensive support to apprenticeship learners throughout their programme, ensuring they develop the skills and knowledge required to succeed. You will be responsible for training and assessing learners against the criteria set by the relevant awarding body for Essential Skills Wales in:
* Literacy
* Numeracy
* Digital Literacy
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy support through workshops and one-to-one sessions
* Ensure learners achieve Essential Skills qualifications and meet Framework requirements
* Register, conduct, and invigilate controlled tasks in line with awarding body requirements
* Prepare and mark assessments and participate in standardisation activities
* Engage learners and employers to drive qualification attainment and skills development
* Maintain quality standards set by internal and external quality assurers
* Keep accurate and up-to-date assessment records
* Monitor learner progress and ensure timely completion of documentation
* Deliver high-quality training programmes to assigned learners/clients
* Travel within a regional area to assess learners in the workplace
* Support the planning, monitoring, and achievement of performance targets
Essential Criteria
* Experience of Work Based Learning and Awarding Body practices
* Experience delivering Essential Skills Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Willingness to undergo a DBS check (cost covered) and register with the EWC
Desirable
* Recognised teaching or assessing qualification (A1 Assessor Award, TAQA, CAVA, or equivalent)
* Welsh speaking
