The opportunity: We are seeking a Paralegal to join our highly-regarded Intellectual Property team at Baker McKenzie, Belfast. The successful candidate will support the Firm's IP practice, handling high volumes of IP prosecution, maintenance, and transactional work in a deadline-driven environment. You will work on international IP portfolios requiring a global mindset and effective coordination with diverse teams worldwide. The role involves collaborating with technology teams, lawyers, paralegals, and external counsel to drive matters forward, providing key support to senior professionals.

Main responsibilities
* Support global IP practice on various matters, including:
* Handling trademark formalities: pre-registration, prosecution, maintenance, renewal, post-registration steps.
* Drafting client reports independently.
* Supporting IP M&A activities: recordal of assignments, licenses, security interests, and registry changes.
* Conducting IP asset due diligence using official registries and databases.
* Supporting anti-counterfeiting programs: drafting guides, seizure notifications, liaising with infringers.
* Performing trademark searches and drafting reports.
* Providing trademark watching services.
* Maintaining service standards, managing deadlines, and following firm procedures.
Essential criteria
* Relevant undergraduate degree, 2.1 or above preferred.
* Legal background with trademark/IP experience preferred.
* Passion for Intellectual Property and willingness to develop expertise.
* Authorization to work in the UK.
Desirable criteria
* CITMA qualification is an advantage.
