Cook / Chef
Cook / chef required to work in our highly regarded residential care home. The vacancy has arisen due to the forthcoming retirement of our head cook of 30 years.
We are happy to either employ 1 person to work full time in the role or to split the role between 2 people.
The Chef must be reliable and fully competent in all aspects of kitchen duties and be able to produce a variety of menus, including catering for special dietary needs.
Hours of work: We are able to offer daytime hours of 07.30 to 17.30 or 07.30 to 15.00
Work days: Either:
Part-time Option: 2 days in 8 on a rolling rota
or
Full-time Option - 4 days in 8 on a rolling rota
Main duties:
* Prepare, cook and serve meals of a high quality using fresh produce and ingredients.
* To document daily menus.
* Store all food safely. Rotate stock and check 'use by' dates regularly.
* Ensure kitchen equipment is kept clean and ready for use and ensure that all cleaning rotas are completed.
* Comply with company policy and procedure in relation to infection control and prevention.
Professional Requirements:
* The Cook/Chef will hold a Food Hygiene Certificate (or be willing to do a refresher if expired).
* Able to provide 2 references
Experience:
* Able to prepare, cook and present high quality dishes.
* Organised and able to communicate effectively.
