We are an unique award winning country Inn. This role is full time split over four/five days. There is no accommodation available with this role. We offer a daily changing fresh menu as well as catering for varied events throughout the year.
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing the kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes. Duties:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development
- Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure food quality and presentation meets the highest standards
- Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and proper use of equipment
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth operations
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and food presentation
- Excellent understanding of kitchen operations and procedures
- Proficient in using various cooking equipment and tools
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Skills:
- Cook: Proficient in preparing a variety of dishes with different cooking techniques.
- Hospitality: Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
- Food preparation: Skilled in preparing ingredients, following recipes, and ensuring proper portioning.
