h3>Job Description Summary
As a Producibility / Component Design Engineer in the Civil Engineering Delivery Team, you will be part of a team at the forefront of Rolls-Royce's drive to establish World Class Technical Response and Fix. Focused primarily on Control System Units, you will deliver Minor Design Changes and provide Design Engineering Support for both Original Equipment (OE) and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Operations.
You will be responsible for the on-time delivery and quality of component design definitions that meet system and sub-system requirements. You will participate within a cross-functional Integrated Project Team (IPT) and operate according to Rolls-Royce Management System (RRMS) policies and processes. Your role includes sub-system integration of technical activities for your design solutions and enabling lifecycle profitability through Supply Chain Design.

Key Accountabilities
1. Deliver design solutions for components and complex unit assemblies, considering safety, manufacturing capability, robustness, cost, weight, maintainability, and repair.
2. Define requirements for stakeholder groups, including manufacturing, project customers, airframers, partners, and analysis teams.
3. Create and utilize automated and integrated tool sets, automating workflows for repeat designs to ensure consistency and efficiency.
4. Eliminate Non-Conformance and deliver Zero Defects/Producibility by analyzing customer and program requirements and incorporating manufacturing and measurement process capabilities.
5. Apply lean principles, standardization, and robust design methods to improve design methods, rules, and tools.
6. Ensure quality assurance by checking design documents, models, and drawings in accordance with RRMS requirements.
7. Perform analyses using calculations and automated workflows for parts dimensioning, ensuring design solutions meet requirements.
8. Create technical documents in compliance with policies.
9. Support through-life Supply Chain Design and lifecycle profitability through non-conformance management, drawing alterations, repair instructions, and technical variances.
10. Manage external design orders and ensure data integrity and configuration control.
11. Execute sub-system integration, ensuring technical attributes meet requirements using Systems Engineering and Robust Design tools.
Key Experiences and Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Strong knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and cross-discipline engineering concepts.
* Ability to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking to technical problems.
* Knowledge of product integrity, liability, and certification frameworks.
* Membership of a relevant professional body; Chartered status preferred in the UK.
* Good communication and presentation skills at all organizational levels.
