The Margaret Beaufort Institute is the Catholic member of the Cambridge Theological Federation (CTF), located in Cambridge, and offers postgraduate study associated with the University of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). The institute offers high quality theological education which is practice-oriented and outward-looking, working with people and institutions from all backgrounds and faiths, through dialogue and deep listening.
Director of Pastoral and Spiritual Practice role
This is a senior role which involves being part of the institute's core team, working closely with the Principal and Vice Principal as well as colleagues in the Cambridge Theological Federation (CTF). The Director of Pastoral and Spiritual Practice will provide strategic leadership for the development of the pastoral-practical strand of the Margaret Beaufort Institute's mission, serving students and the wider community through formative education, ethical-spiritual resourcing, and innovative engagement. The Director will advance the Institute's mission by contributing to both its core team and the broader Catholic and ecumenical community.
The Director of Pastoral and Spiritual Practice will lead the development of the pastoral-practical strand of the Institute's mission (the other strands are research and teaching) in line with the Institute's strategy. =In particular, they will be expected to develop Priority C: 'Providing enrichment opportunities for leaders in Church and world' and Strategic Goals 1,3 and 4: Goal (1) to sustain a high quality formational theological education, spiritual and ethical resourcing for individuals and groups; Goal (3) to facilitate exchange with culture, art, professional practice, and common good initiatives to inform teaching, research and practice; and Goal (4) to build effective institutional (local and international) collaborations to enhance the Institute's programmes and increase its profile within the wider (global) Catholic Church community and society in general'. There is flexibility for a successful candidate to innovate and help the Institute to develop new areas of engagement
