Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919

As a Secondary History Teacher, you will teach KS3 and KS4 students how to analyse events, understand causes, and develop structured written responses.
Key responsibilities
Teach History across KS3 and KS4
Guide source analysis and interpretation
Develop structured written answers
Teach cause and consequence clearly
Prepare students for GCSE exams
Maintain classroom routines and expectations
The classroom environment
Lessons are structured and clear
Students build understanding over time
Discussion is controlled
Behaviour is consistent
Skills and experience
Experience teaching History or strong subject knowledge
Ability to explain clearly
Strong classroom management
Organisation and planning
What success looks like
Students explain rather than list
Writing becomes more structured
Confidence improves
QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with History or humanities backgrounds
