Supply Heroes are looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor to work with a supportive and energetic primary school in Birmingham with a fantastic reputation. They are looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant to work across the classroom with a pro-active, enthusiastic and engaging approach. The role will start ASAP and will be for the full- academic year. The ideal candidate will have EYFS/KS1 experience and have a depth of knowledge with phonics. However, the school will consider those with other specialisms and backgrounds if they are the right person for the role.
The role will be classroom based, however; you may run targeted interventions supporting students in a small group basis. You’ll be working within the Early Years Foundation Stage, supporting children through their first vital stages of development. Will also need to lead the class when the class teacher is absent or on PPA. This role will be ideal for a TA who wants to progress into teaching.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning – Essential, this must be DfE approved
* Experience supporting EYFS pupils in a school setting
* A caring and enthusiastic nature with a passion for early education
* Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
* Good teamwork and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting children’s learning and development within the EYFS framework
* Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation
* Leading small group and 1:1 activities
* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being
* Creating stimulating learning environments and displays
* Supporting with personal care and daily routines where needed
