About Us

The Tregothnan Estate is a private family home with a world-renowned botanical garden and woodland. The Estate has a team of maintenance, gardening, forestry and joinery employees that maintain the core estate and manage the beautiful surroundings which are on the edge of the River Fal. The Estate also has a substantial portfolio of residential, commercial, and agricultural properties and in-hand farming business.

Through its day to day running, the Estate produces tea (the only UK grown blend), honey and jam, which are sold by our trading team; delivers Experiences including Garden and Tea Tasting Tours; and rents holiday accommodation. The Estate is diverse in its activities and the job roles it provides. The teams have a great community spirit, the surroundings are inspiring, and the work is always interesting. The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator, to join our small friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity if you are looking for variety, in a fast-paced environment, and want to learn about our diverse and small business.

Duties include:

Order Management and Customer Service:

- Accurately enter customer orders into the system, ensuring order details are correct and that processing is prompt.
- Serve as the main point of contact for customer service queries and complaints, handling each query with professionalism and efficiency while escalating complex issues as needed.
- Develop a thorough understanding of Tregothnan’s products, services, and systems, providing informed support and solutions to customer enquiries.
- Track and resolve courier-related queries, liaising with delivery partners to keep customers updated on delivery statuses and address any delivery issues promptly.
- Deal with return customer parcels and resolve as required.

Frontline Support - online & onsite:

- Greet and assist customers in the on-site shops, providing personalised recommendations, answering product questions, and handling payments.
- Proactively upsell products, with a particular focus on Tregothnan’s speciality teas, and promote seasonal items and special offers.
- Act as the primary person responsible for answering incoming phone calls, directing calls to the appropriate departments when necessary, and managing customer enquiries over the phone.
- Welcome other visitors to the Woodyard and Reading Room such as suppliers, manage incoming parcels, and ensure a smooth process for deliveries and visitor check-ins.

Administrative Support for Sales Team:

- Provide support to the sales team by completing administrative tasks such as client correspondence, completing forms, and fulfilling ad hoc requests from team members.
- Assist with administration for all Experiences where required and handle associated payments, coordinating with the events or visitor services teams as needed.

Team Collaboration and Flexibility:

- Work collaboratively with the sales and administrative teams, in multiple sites, maintaining a flexible approach to meet the demands of a growing family-run business.
- Work with the production team on a regular basis, offering assistance to packing products etc where required.

About You

You will need:

- Good level of numeracy and literacy skills.
- Administrative experience.
- Sales experience within a telesales/office environment.
- Front line customer service experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Excellent written communication, presentation, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- To be highly organised, and conscientious, with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Confidence and tenacity, with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Flexible attitude to work to support other members of the team and willingness to change tasks as and when required.
- Ability to work under pressure, with good time management skills.
- Ability to work independently using own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Professional and mature attitude, polite and good levels of personal presentation.
- Ability to remain calm.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport, as we are in a rural location with no access to public transport.

- 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am–5.00pm.
