About the role
Ceredigion Leaving Care Team are looking to recruit a Personal Advisor to join our team. Your role is to support young person leaving care transitioning into adulthood. Care leavers are young people that have been in the care of Ceredigion Council, as a Personal Advisor between 16 and 18 years old your role would be building a relationship, starting conversations about the future and planning for when they turn 18. When the young person turns 18 you will be the main support, keeping in contact and providing advice.
The job requires being resourceful as young people leaving care often have to negotiate lots of different challenges and hurdles being supported with education, employment, health, finances, housing and relationships.
The job requires you to provide emotional support and understanding of the young people who you are working with. We can learn from them as we develop a better understanding of their lives. It is a privileged position to be able to support these young people transitioning to independence. A role that takes real commitment and dedication.
As part of an experienced team, you would receive training and support to develop your skills and knowledge.

Porth Cynnal – Specialist Through Age Services
Porth Cynnal provides intensive and specialist through-age assessment, care planning and review for those in need of longer term or complex care and support including quality assurance checks court and statutory interventions.
The service consists of the following teams:
