Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Logistics Manager, based in the London Area, United Kingdom, Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Logistics Manager plays a pivotal role in managing our overall supply chain and distribution network.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Logistics Manager to oversee our global supply chain and distribution network. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end logistics, with a heavy focus on overseas shippings, freight cost optimisation, and ensuring our logistical operations align with the Company's financial and commercial goals. This position requires active partnership with the internal stakeholders to protect margins and drive business efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all overseas shipping operations, negotiating rates with freight forwarders and carriers to ensure cost effective and timely delivery.
* Continuously monitor freight costs and their direct impact on business margins, proactively identifying areas for savings without compromising service.
* Act as the central logistics hub, consulting regularly with internal stakeholders before implementing strategic changes.
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date logs of all freight expenditures. Provide regular, transparent updates to the Finance and Commercial teams regarding shipping costs, route changes, and market fluctuations.
* Review current logistical frameworks and propose scalable, efficient solutions suitable for a growing business.
The Person
* Proven experience as a Logistics Manager, ideally within a wholesale, retail, or luxury goods environment with heavy overseas shipping requirements.
* Strong commercial acumen; you must understand how logistical decisions directly impact product margins and the bottom line.
* Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of working collaboratively across different departments (Finance, Commercial, Merchandising etc.).
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to use logistics data, freight metrics, and cost analyses to track performance, identify trends, and facilitate informed and objective business decisions.
* A proactive, transparent approach to decision making. You are someone who brings stakeholders on the journey.
* Strong negotiation skills and experience managing relationships with international freight forwarders.
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a closely related field is highly preferred.
