Job Description:
This role oversees safety, compliance with permits, and the operational and financial performance of the TSDF facility. Collaborating with sales, customer service, accounting, and health and safety teams, the manager ensures regulatory compliance and safety standards are met. The position involves leading staff and operations to handle and treat waste streams in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Assign and supervise work activities of the production crew.
2. Audit performance for quality, safety, and efficiency, and implement improvements.
3. Manage staffing processes including hiring, firing, and development.
4. Coordinate work schedules and resource allocation across shifts.
5. Review operational records for safety, accuracy, and compliance.
6. Inspect production areas and equipment, ensuring safety and regulatory adherence.
7. Enforce safety rules and conduct safety meetings.
8. Lead safety committees and initiatives.
9. Develop and implement safety and environmental risk mitigation strategies.
10. Provide on-the-job training and support personnel development.
11. Respond to emergencies and participate in contingency planning.
12. Develop waste profiles and coordinate waste shipments in compliance with regulations.
13. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biological sciences, chemistry, environmental science, or related field.
* At least 5 years of experience in hazardous waste or related industry.
* Minimum 3 years of management experience in operations.
* Knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations related to waste transportation and processing.
* Strong math and science skills, especially in Chemistry.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
