An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our experienced and motivated musculoskeletal physiotherapy team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated, friendly, and professional individual with excellent organisational and communication skills. This is a full-time post, and you will be required to work both independently and as part of a team.
You would be joining a diverse group of physiotherapists, assistants, clinical specialists, and the lead clinical academic for therapies.
This role will require you to:
1. Assist, support, and work under the direction of a qualified therapist
2. Manage your own caseload of patients, with supervision
3. Achieve, develop, and maintain competencies through ongoing skills and knowledge development
4. Record patient information in line with Trust guidelines
5. Work effectively within the team, service, and Trust
6. Perform non-clinical and administrative duties within the service, as required
7. Manage equipment, products, and stock level
8. Be actively involved in departmental activities and projects.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide support to the outpatient physiotherapy team. The role includes assisting with the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions by supervising and teaching exercise programmes.
The successful candidate will co-lead gym and water-based exercise classes for groups of patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, such as ligament repairs, fractures, or operations for osteoarthritis. For one-to-one appointments, patients will have been referred to the physiotherapy assistant with a specific exercise programme (including progression options) prescribed by a physiotherapist. Appointments and classes are currently delivered both virtually and face-to-face.
This role is essential to the delivery of the outpatient musculoskeletal service. ICT and organisational skills are required to carry out administrative duties related to patient care and clinic setup. These include patient-related paperwork, maintenance and cleaning of equipment and the clinical environment, and maintaining adequate stock levels.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
9. General Education to GCSE level including English/ equivocal English qualification.
Desirable criteria
10. Care Certificate
11. Undergone relevant theoretical and practical work-based training or holds academic/NVQ level III qualification.
12. Previous Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy / Speech and Language or Dietetic Assistant experience.
Experience/ Skills
Essential criteria
13. Experience of working with the public.
14. Previous experience of caring for people in or outside of work.
15. Demonstrates knowledge of health care delivery.
16. Experience of administrative work e.g. photocopying, filing.
17. Experience working in a team.
18. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the role of the relevant therapy professions.
