Assistant Store Manager (3m Fixed Term) - Milton Keynes

The role is a 3‑month fixed term with the potential to become permanent, starting 5th January.
Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for day‑to‑day retail operations, including coaching, sales analysis, visual merchandising and administration.
* Act as acting Store Manager in the Store Manager’s absence, leading and implementing high standards of customer experience and product knowledge.
* Maintain health & safety and security standards within the store.
* Achieve KPI targets such as sales, conversion rate and units per transaction in line with the store P&L budget.
* Ensure proper stock management procedures: stock take, delivery processing, and loss prevention actions.
* Collaborate closely with Store Manager, Regional Manager and Head Office to make commercial decisions aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications
* Passion for Dr. Martens products.
* Previous assistant store manager or supervisor experience, ideally in a fashion/lifestyle brand, for a few years.
* Confident coach, mentor and team developer.
* Sales‑oriented, able to drive others to achieve store goals.
* Resilient with a solution‑driven mindset.
* Business‑level fluency in English; additional languages are a benefit.
* Good IT skills – proficient in Microsoft Office and POS systems.
