As part of our continued growth, we are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher – Curriculum and Assessment to join our dedicated leadership team at Miller House School, part of Acorn Education, based in Leicester.
About the Role
In this key leadership role, you will play a vital part in shaping and delivering a high-quality, inclusive curriculum tailored to meet the needs of our learners. You’ll lead on all aspects of curriculum design, development, and implementation, ensuring robust systems for assessment and data tracking are in place.
You’ll work closely with the Deputy Headteacher and wider SLT to:
1. Lead on the design, review, and delivery of a curriculum that supports a broad range of learner needs
2. Ensure accurate and timely assessment and reporting processes
3. Provide data and insights to support governance and school improvement
4. Support teaching staff in delivering engaging, purposeful learning experiences
5. Contribute to the wider strategic development of the school as part of the SLT
6. Champion our safeguarding culture and uphold the highest standards of pupil wellbeing and safety

You will have:
Essential Requirements
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/PGCE)
8. At least 5 years of successful teaching experience
9. Strong knowledge and experience of developing alternative and inclusive curricula
10. A background in SEN and/or SEMH settings
11. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide and develop others
12. A collaborative, values-driven approach and a passion for educational excellence

Miller House School is a new co-educational specialist provision located in Stoneygate, Leicester. Opened in September 2025, our school supports up to 80 pupils aged 11–16 with complex needs, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
