At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Project Manager at our Hinkley Point C site.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance collaborates across the project to deliver all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling, and support services. This approach enables different contractors to work as a single entity to install cabling and pipework throughout the power station’s extensive network of rooms.

The role

As a Project Manager, you’ll have a unique role. Being part of the MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C offers the chance to be involved in a major project of national importance. You’ll support the Programme Manager in shaping and delivering key projects within the MEH Programme at Hinkley Point C.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll work closely with the business within an established project governance structure, building strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency. You’ll act as the voice of the business within the wider IT team, translating business requirements and desired outcomes into actionable project plans. Managing multiple workstreams, often involving technical and functional changes from inception to implementation, will be essential. Your ability to foster collaborative relationships and understand business needs will be crucial for delivering successful outcomes on complex projects.

* Coordinate and oversee project workstreams within small to medium-scale projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation and driving delivery.
* Engage and influence stakeholders across IT and the business, manage third-party relationships, and communicate effectively with sponsors and senior leadership.
* Implement and maintain project management best practices, systems, and processes to support delivery, manage risks, issues, dependencies, and ensure quality.
* Monitor progress and financials, taking corrective actions to keep projects on track, managing budgets, costs, and reporting.
* Act as a business domain expert, understanding operating models, data, processes, and requirements, and managing dependencies across projects to ensure alignment.

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working: 2 days in the office/on-site and 3 days remote. The successful candidate can be based at either our Aztec West, Bristol, or HPC Bridgewater offices, with regular travel between sites.

Essential experience of the IT Project Manager

* Experience managing end-to-end delivery of small to medium IT projects, including coordinating workstreams and stakeholder communication.
* Proven ability to implement project governance, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure delivery using structured methodologies.
* Strong background in budget management, financial reporting, and working with finance teams to track costs and accruals.
* Understanding of business domains and translating functional requirements into project plans and documentation.

Qualifications for the IT Project Manager

* Degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent).
* Ability to achieve security clearance (BPSS or higher).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a valid UK passport holder, able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance. Further details are available at UK Security Vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK.
