Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients. This position requires a strong understanding of pharmacy operations, excellent patient service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Pharmacy Dispenser will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Duties
* Accurately dispense medications in accordance with prescriptions and established protocols.
* Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and educating patients about their medications.
* Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient intake.
* Utilize aseptic techniques for IV infusion preparation and administration.
* Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care in acute care settings.
* Assist in managing inventory and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
* Stay informed about medical terminology and pharmacy practices relevant to long-term care (LTC) settings.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance pharmacy technician skills.
Experience
* Previous experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings is highly desirable.
* Critical care experience is a plus, particularly in acute care environments.
* Familiarity with medication administration processes and aseptic techniques is essential.
* Experience as a pharmacy technician or similar role is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
