Your new companyYou will be joining a well-established public sector organisation that plays a key role in supporting and engaging stakeholders across Northern Ireland. With a strong focus on transparency, communication, and continuous improvement, the organisation is committed to delivering high-quality services and maintaining meaningful relationships with its audiences.Your new roleAs Communications Officer, you will take the lead in delivering and coordinating a wide range of communications and public relations activities. This is a varied and hands-on role where you will contribute directly to shaping how the organisation communicates with its responsibilities will include:Developing and delivering communications strategies and action plansManaging digital channels, including website and social media platformsCreating engaging content such as press releases, newsletters, and publicationsActing as a key point of contact for media enquiries and building media relationshipsSupporting internal and external communications campaignsMonitoring and evaluating communication performance and engagement metricsCoordinating events, webinars, and promotional activitiesProviding communications advice and guidance to senior stakeholdersYou will play a vital role in ensuring consistent messaging, enhancing engagement, and strengthening the organisation's public profile.What you'll need to succeedTo thrive in this role, you will bring a strong background in communications and public relations, alongside excellent organisational and interpersonal criteria include:A relevant qualification in communications, PR, or a related fieldKnowledge of the Northern Ireland education landscape would be advantageous.3 years' demonstrable experience in a role with primary responsibility for communications and public relations.3 years' demonstrable experience of developing and managing the delivery, and subsequent evaluation, of communications and public relations within an organisation.3 years' demonstrable experience developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of a communications and public relations strategy and action plan and developing responses to metrics and feedback to ensure continuous improvement.1 year's relevant administrative experience with well-developed IT skills.1 year's demonstrable experience engaging with stakeholders including dealing with customers face to face, by telephone and via email.Demonstrable experience and skills in building positive working relationships as a team member and supporting change management; with the proven ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with colleagues at all levels and in all business areas of an organisation.Strong working knowledge of IT systems and of programmes/software for creating/editing corporate documents/publications, website pages/documents and social media content (for example, MS Office packages, social media platforms, Photoshop and graphic design packages).What you'll get in return£34,434 (pro rata) / £18.27 per hourPart-time working pattern (3 days per week)Hybrid working modelOpportunity to work in a meaningful role with visible impactSupportive team culture with opportunities for professional developmentKey datesClosing date: 12th JuneShortlisting: Week commencing 15th JuneInterviews: 22nd / 23rd JunePlease note: the interview process will include a PowerPoint presentation.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
