IT Support Engineer Role Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE Contract: Full-time(37 hours per week) Location: Newton Abbot, with travel to additional sites Annual Leave: 25 days (rising to 29 after 5 years) bank holidays Start Date: As soon as possible Overview Our client is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join their collaborative and forward-thinking IT team. Supporting multiple sites and over 6,000 end users, this role offers the opportunity to influence technical delivery, drive innovation, and make a meaningful impact across a diverse organisation. You will play a key role in providing high-quality technical support, managing projects, and supporting the rollout of new technologies across the organisations schools and training environments. Key Responsibilities Provide professional telephone, remote, and on-site IT support to staff and students Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot key systems and processes Deliver training on new and existing systems in partnership with the internal training coordinator Produce clear documentation and maintain accurate records of completed work Lead and support IT projects, including planning and managing your own initiatives Travel to sites without on-site IT staff as part of a scheduled rota Support the implementation of new technologies and contribute to continuous service improvement Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in IT technical support, with strong customer service skills Excellent communication and the ability to build relationships at all levels Strong technical knowledge, including: Cybersecurity SharePoint & Microsoft Teams management Printer installation & troubleshooting (PaperCut) Desktop/laptop troubleshooting (Windows 11, Microsoft 365) iOS/Android/MDM support Network troubleshooting Managed software deployment & A/V technology Well organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team Physically capable of moving equipment when required Minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above, including Maths, English and IT/Science Full UK driving licence and access to own transport (business-use insurance provided; mileage claimable)
