We are currently supporting out client with the recruitment of HGV refuse drivers in the Lambeth area. We offer fantastic work-life balance! HGV Refuse Collections Driver (PM)
£19.76 per hour (PAYE)
Temporary until 31st October 2025, with likely extension
Role Duties:
- Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job.
- Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal.
- Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed.
- Complete relevant paperwork in real time.
- Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use
- Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
- Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users.
Working Hours:
2pm to 10pm, Monday - Friday
What you'll need to succeed:
- Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points)
- Driver CPC
- Must have held HGV licence for at least 18-24 months OR Experience of one year in a similar role using comparable vehicles (26-tonne RCVs).
- Willingness to help refuse loaders while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Clean drivers licence desirable for all staff
