Site Services Engineer – Leicester (Food Manufacturing) We’re looking for a skilled Site Services Engineer to join a fast-paced food manufacturing environment in Leicester. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining site services, minimising downtime, and driving continuous improvement across plant performance, utilities, and facilities. Shift Pattern : 07:00 – 15:00 Monday – Friday About the Role You’ll play a key role in keeping the site running efficiently by responding to breakdowns, delivering planned maintenance, and supporting operational excellence. This position requires a proactive, multi-skilled engineer who thrives in a dynamic production environment. Key Responsibilities Carry out maintenance across site services and facilities Respond rapidly to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime Perform effective repairs during production (independently and as part of a team) Deliver a high standard of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) Conduct daily checks on utilities including boilers, compressors, refrigeration, and water systems Support uptime and maintenance KPIs through proactive engineering practices Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance OEE Maintain safe working environments, tools, and equipment Manage contractor activities, permits, and compliance standards Ensure adherence to health & safety, GMP, and hygiene standards Maintain accurate engineering records and support CMMS systems Support effluent plant operations and environmental compliance Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams About You Minimum 3 years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment Multi-skilled engineer with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship 17th or 18th Edition qualified Experience within the food industry is essential BOAS (Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme) certification desirable Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and under pressure Confident communicator with a proactive mindset Experience managing contractors on-site What We’re Looking For Someone who takes ownership, works with urgency, and is passionate about continuous improvement.
