Overview
We are seeking a skilled Multiskilled Engineer with a Mechanical or HVAC bias to deliver high-quality building maintenance services. You will be part of a dedicated technical team, ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and safety standards while maintaining and optimising HVAC and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform planned and reactive maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems (e.g., heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water systems).
2. Diagnose faults and complete repairs within agreed response times, ensuring accurate documentation.
3. Maintain and repair installations including AHUs, FCUs, thermal wheels, and water assets.
4. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH, PPE, and safe working practices.
5. Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, and clients to deliver proactive service.
6. Maintain clean, safe, and secure plant rooms and equipment.
7. Respond to emergency repairs and close reactive calls within SLA.
8. Liaise with clients to ensure high standards of customer service.
9. Ensure assets are maintained in line with O&M manuals and contractual obligations.
10. Participate in ongoing training and development.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
11. Apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (e.g., C&G Level 3/5, NVQ, BTEC).
12. Proven experience in HVAC systems and building services.
13. Strong knowledge of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, electrical distribution, and public health systems.
14. Familiarity with statutory compliance and H&S legislation.
15. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
16. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
17. Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality service.
Desirable Qualifications
18. Unvented systems qualification or experience with chillers, AC, and refrigeration.
19. HVAC certification (e.g., C&G F-Gas) and/or gas qualifications.
20. IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification.
21. C&G /2 and 18th Edition IEE Regulations.
Additional Information
22. May involve manual handling, working at heights, and confined spaces.
23. Security Clearance: This role requires Security Check (SC) clearance. Candidates must: Be a British national Have a minimum of 5 years' checkable work history in the UK Be eligible for SC vetting in line with national security requirements
