Prospero Teaching is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school in West Wittering, supporting a Year 4 pupil on a one-to-one basis.
About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s learning and development. As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to help the pupil engage with the curriculum, build confidence, and reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your role will be varied, hands-on, and impactful. You will:
 1. Offer individualised support to help the pupil access their learning
 2. Promote independence, confidence, and positive social interactions
 3. Assist with structured activities and learning interventions
 4. Support behaviour management and emotional regulation, ensuring a calm and positive learning space
 5. Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies
 6. Adapt learning resources to suit the pupil’s needs
 7. Maintain a supportive and inclusive environment, fostering well-being and progress
 8. Follow safeguarding policies to ensure the child’s safety and welfare
What We’re Looking For
We would love to hear from you if you:
 9. Have experience working with KS2 children, ideally in a learning support capacity
 10. Hold a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance, Childcare, or a related field (desirable but not essential)
 11. Have a patient, nurturing, and encouraging approach
 12. Are passionate about inclusion and helping all children succeed
 13. Communicate effectively and thrive in a team setting
 14. Can adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
The Details
 15. Location: West Wittering
 16. Position: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (KS2 – Year 4)
 17. Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
 18. Start Date: September 2025
 19. Rate of Pay: From £ per hour
Eligibility Criteria:
 20. Right to work in the UK
 21. Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate (registered with the online update service or willingness to apply)
 22. References available upon request
 23. Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (or willingness to complete training)
