A private girls' boarding and day school in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, for students aged 11-18. Catering for about 1050 students and teachers daily, we offer core meals including breakfast, lunch, and supper, along with AM and PM snacks at three feeding locations. The location also features extensive hospitality services. This is a 7-day operation with shift patterns of 5 days over 7. Free on-site parking is available.
We have an excellent opportunity for a creative and effective Senior Sous Chef to join our team at this prestigious location in High Wycombe.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare all food service areas for daily meal service.
* Ensure prompt service of all meals according to company and client standards.
* Ensure preparation and presentation methods meet company expectations.
* Set up, serve, clear, clean, and store food, beverages, and equipment required for service.
* Prepare food following hygiene and safety standards.
* Restock and replenish supplies during service to ensure smooth operations.
* Inform front of house of any shortages or delays.
* Complete cleaning and hygiene duties.
* Serve customers, visitors, and guests according to service standards.
* Manage waste and recycling appropriately.
* Assist with ordering and stock management.
* Ensure the kitchen complies with health and safety regulations.
* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
* Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
* Notify the head chef of stock needs for upcoming menus.
General Responsibilities:
* Attend staff meetings.
* Adhere to policies and procedures, legislation, and company standards.
* Wear the correct, clean uniform and maintain personal presentation.
* Perform food temperature checks and other safety checks.
* Follow reasonable instructions from management.
* Provide cover for absent staff when needed.
* Report hazards and ensure health and safety standards are met.
Personal Skills and Attributes:
* Teamwork, good listening skills, initiative, excellent personal hygiene and presentation, food hygiene certification preferred.
* Adaptability, reliability, honesty, customer service orientation.
* Willingness to learn and take responsibility.
* Ability to perform moderate lifting and physical tasks.
* Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
* Experience in customer service or food preparation preferred.
