This position is structured as a self-employed associate role operating on a business-to-business basis rather than a salaried position. It is a commercially accountable focused on developing and growing client relationships within the business. The structure includes a monthly retainer together with performance-based incentives, with earnings driven primarily by client acquisition and portfolio growth.
Role Overview
The Associate Director acts as the senior commercial interface for clients and plays a key role in managing relationships and supporting the development of the business. The business already has an established portfolio of clients and ongoing activity, providing an immediate platform to build from.
This is a senior, commercially accountable role suited to someone comfortable operating independently, building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand client engagements over time.
The role is outcome‑driven and focuses on client stewardship, account development and new client acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
* Generate and develop new client opportunities, including proactive lead generation and outreach activity
* Lead conversations with prospective clients
* Take responsibility for new client acquisition and converting opportunities into ongoing engagements
* Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts
* Be the primary point of contact for clients
* Manage and strengthen ongoing client relationships
* Coordinate with specialist delivery teams supporting client work
* Support the development of new business opportunities through referrals and outreach
Candidate Profile
This role is suited to a commercially experienced professional with demonstrable senior‑level experience or a proven track record in B2B services, particularly in areas such as:

Candidates should be commercially minded, comfortable operating independently, and experienced in managing client relationships and developing revenue opportunities.
Working Arrangement
The role is primarily remote; however, associates should be based in the UK and able to meet in person occasionally when required.
The Associate Director operates as an independent professional with full autonomy over how they structure their work and schedule. Delivery is measured through commercial outcomes, client relationships and development of new business opportunities rather than prescribed working hours.
