Role Overview
The Engineering BOM Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and maintaining the accuracy of product Bill of Materials (BOM) within Armstrong\'s engineering and manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all relevant teams — including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality — have access to accurate, complete, and up-to-date BOM information. Effective BOM management underpins efficient production, successful product development, and smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* BOM Management: Maintain and update the BOM, including version control, tracking changes, and ensuring alignment with engineering and production requirements.
* Data Accuracy: Verify BOM information against engineering drawings and related documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to gather, validate, and disseminate BOM information.
* Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve discrepancies or errors in the BOM, working with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance BOM management processes, implementing improvements to increase efficiency and data accuracy.
* Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation related to BOMs, including updates, changes, and version history.
* Communication: Act as a central point of contact for BOM-related queries, ensuring clear and timely communication across departments.
* Planning and reporting: Ensure BOMs are completed in time for the planned production date, and report on completion. Support Engineering Manager to create ETRS (Engineering Timing Release Structure) reports.
Role Requirements
* Strong understanding of BOM structures, and exposure to engineering drawings with the ability to interpret technical documentation and product assemblies.
* Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and precision in data management.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across multiple functions.
* Understanding of relevant software and systems, including CAD, PLM, ERP, or other BOM/data management tools.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve BOM-related issues effectively.
* Support timely updates of ECO (Engineering Change Orders) to support procurement and production departments.
What We Offer
* An opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration across Armstrong\'s engineering and manufacturing operations.
* A supportive and collaborative environment with a focus on continuous improvement and professional growth.
* Competitive salary and benefits package.
