Overview

Can you perform the surgery needed to keep leading edge humanoid robots alive? Engineered Arts are looking for an assembly and maintenance technician to work on novel humanoid robot designs, with a focus on lab testing for locomotion and manipulation.

Working with the design and controls team as they iterate rapidly through design updates your mission is to keep prototype robots functional and up to date.

This is a hands on role requiring careful assembly and knowledge of electro mechanical systems, taking designs from a kit of parts to completion.

Complex and intricate designs require a steady careful hand and an eye for detail.

With a state of the art facility Engineered Arts produce most parts in house, utilising 3,5 and 7 axis machine tools, large scale SLA printing and laser welding.


Main Responsibilities

* Mechanical assembly of robotics systems
* Electrical wiring of robotics systems
* Design & assembly of test rigs to support the overall R&D team
* Careful assembly of challenging mechanical designs
* Investigation and resolution for mechanical problems


Qualifications, Knowledge, Key Skills and Experience

* Proven experience with mechanical and electronics assembly
* Proven experience with hand tools, power tools and manual machine tools
* Good soldering skills both on large conductors and surface mount PCB components
* Experience with 3D CAD, solidworks, inventor etc
* Experience with high power lithium battery systems
* PCB rework down to 0201 and BGA level

This allows our customers to use a mix of real and virtual characters and allows 3rd party developers to create new and exciting applications on top of our robot platform, opening it up to new use cases and market segments.
