Detailed job description and main responsibilities Career development time (average 1 days per week) There are several exciting new opportunities to engage with the following projects, and specific involvement will be established following successful appointment. Each project will have a named consultant supervisor. Cardiac Surgery School - Development of this fledgling patient education programme Platelet cell salvage Introduction and evaluation of a novel cell salvage system TOE Training and Quality and Governance ACTACC national audits Person specification Experience/Qualifications Essential criteria Basic medical degree Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice Final FRCA or equivalent Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent Desirable criteria CCT in Anaesthesia Postgraduate qualification or appropriate specialist qualification, e.g: MRCP Higher Degree Advanced Life Support/Advanced Trauma Life Support Instructor Clinical Skills & Experience Essential criteria Minimum 5 years' anaesthetic experience and clinical skills expected for ST5 Experience of Cardiac Anaesthesia Completed RCoA Stage 2 training or equivalent Minimum 6 months' ICU experience Desirable criteria Prior Anaesthetics post within the UK Ability to work independently with distant supervision in the cardiology cath lab Knowledge Desirable criteria Breadth of experience in and outside specialty Organisation & Planning Essential criteria Experience and ability to work in multi-professional teams Understanding of: NHS / Clinical governance / Resource constraints Desirable criteria Evidence of managerial skills: Achievements / Course attended Teaching Skills Essential criteria Evidence of an interest and commitment to teaching Desirable criteria Recognised teaching qualification Academic & Research Essential criteria Evidence of participation in audit Desirable criteria Research experience Publications Prizes and honours Important information for applicants: A Note on AI Use in Applications We value the individuality and authenticity that each candidate brings to the application process.
