We have an exciting opportunity to join the Falkirk Health Improvement Service as a Senior Health Improvement Officer.
This role will build health improvement capability and capacity and facilitate the implementation of a specific strength based portfolio of work, delivering on a range of work programmes associated with the Falkirk Health Improvement Service. In particular the postholder will lead, coordinate and support delivery of programmes to improve health outcomes in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Blood Borne Virus to deliver against the Sexual Health and BBV Action Plan for Scotland and its associated frameworks. The post holder will work in partnership across Forth Valley, and be responsible for oversight of the Falkirk Health Improvement Service contribution to the agenda, and wider service health improvement initiatives.
The postholder will contribute to the strategic support, leadership and line management of the service and facilitate delivery of action on early intervention and prevention as part of the transformation agenda, whilst ensuring that the health improvement contribution to Community Planning and the Public Health Priorities maximise outcomes sought by Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of current and relevant health improvement policy and how it translates operationally as well as having excellent project and people management skills. In addition, experience of partnership working, outcome driven programmes and workforce development are essential.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
The successful candidate will hold a first degree as well as a post graduate Masters qualification in Public Health/Health Promotion (or equivalent) and have significant experience in a health improvement field.
