As an Administration and Production Technician in our Media Services team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality design, print and production services to the Defence Academy and external customers. This is a varied role combining administrative, customer service and print production duties, supporting the smooth operation of a busy print and media environment. What you’ll do as an Administration and Production Technician Act as the first point of contact for customers, managing enquiries via phone, email and in person. Log, track and progress print and production jobs using internal systems. Produce accurate costings, raise purchase orders and maintain financial and VAT records. Liaise with internal finance teams and external suppliers, including quotes and payment processing. Manage departmental purchasing, consumables and stock control. Provide general administrative support including reporting, filing, visitor bookings and postage. Support print production including pre-press file preparation, digital and wide-format printing, finishing, scanning and job tracking. Maintain a clean, organised printroom and paper store. Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and departmental workflows. Does this sound like you? Proven experience in an administrative or office-based role. Highly organised with strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn. Practical and technical aptitude. Desirable Interest or experience in design, media or print production. Familiarity with digital print processes and equipment. Experience using pre-press software and Adobe Creative Suite. Additional Information BPSS clearance required prior to appointment. Occasional driving of company or MOD vehicles on site. Serco uniform, name badge and security pass must be worn as required. Role involves adherence to Health & Safety legislation. Vetting and checks: This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
