Pay Rate: £39.00 per hour (Inside IR35)
Position Overview:
Envisage is seeking a highly skilled Technical Product Development Manager (LL6/M3) to join our Vehicle Engineering & Architecture department. This role is responsible for driving the development and improvement of new products, components, and systems. You will manage a team of experienced professionals, ensuring all research and design methodologies meet rigorous scientific and engineering standards while hitting cost, quality, and timing targets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Technical Leadership: Oversee the development of equipment, systems, and technologies, ensuring compliance with internal and external quality/safety standards.
• Strategic Implementation: Execute policy and strategy for short-term results (1 year or less) and manage difficult to moderately complex technical challenges.
• Business Planning: Assist in formulating business plans and budgets for product development cycles.
• Innovation: Stay abreast of industry developments, translating trends into viable options for the organization and its customers.
• Stakeholder Management: Influence stakeholders outside of your immediate area regarding policies and procedures; organize technical presentations for customers and industry groups.
• Performance Monitoring: Ensure all product development outcomes meet technical, functional, and financial benchmarks.
Required Skills & Keywords:
• Core Competencies: Technical Product Development, R&D Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
• Project Management: Budgeting, Business Planning, Resource Allocation, Risk Mitigation.
• Technical Standards: Quality & Safety Compliance, Scientific Research Methodologies, Regulatory Approval Processes.
• Leadership: Team Management (M3 Level), Stakeholder Engagement, Policy Implementation.
Experience & Qualifications:
• Proven experience as an R&D Manager, Engineering Supervisor, or Technical Product Manager.
• Demonstrated ability to manage experienced professionals with a high degree of independence.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting quality and safety test results.
• Work Arrangement: Generally Hybrid (3 days on-site at Gaydon), subject to change based on project requirements.
