Financial Analyst, Global Payroll Quality Assurance
Amazon's Global Payroll Quality Audit team performs audits on global employee data to mitigate risks in a complex and rapidly growing environment. We seek an enthusiastic candidate to join our fast-paced team responsible for conducting audits to prevent overpayment/underpayment issues and to identify process risks and vulnerabilities. This role offers high visibility and valuable exposure across various business areas, with opportunities to implement impactful improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong auditing, problem-solving, payroll process, and system knowledge, along with excellent communication skills.
Key job responsibilities
1. Conduct daily audits, handle multiple cases, and resolve findings collaboratively with stakeholders.
2. Perform process deep dives to identify new risks or opportunities.
3. Identify root causes and suggest improvements to existing processes, fostering a culture of continuous enhancement.
4. Collaborate with data providers and tech teams to ensure data accuracy and automation.
5. Maintain SLA by resolving audit findings within designated timelines and follow up on open issues.
6. Identify process gaps, work with upstream partners to mitigate defects, and review processes for controls.
7. Apply analytical thinking to resolve audit findings and address inspection action items.
A day in the life
The analyst performs audits to prevent financial loss and improve employee experience, attends team meetings, collaborates with upstream teams, analyzes audit trends for improvements, and ensures SLA adherence. They will also review payroll gaps and develop risk mitigation controls.
About the team
The Global Payroll Quality Audits (GPQA) team was established to assess risks and develop control mechanisms, working closely with upstream teams like Payroll Operations, Employee Services, ERC, and HR Ops to address process risks and drive continuous improvements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* At least 1 year of finance experience
* Experience with internal and external audits
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Proficiency in Excel (macros, pivots, lookups, etc.)
* Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
