The post holder will be responsible for working in a fast paced and physical test environment preparing and executing static and dynamic seats in accordance to approved test plans and working flexibly to meet project schedules. Operating state of the art test equipment including high speed cameras, lighting and data acquisition systems. Responsibilities Test setup – hands on set up and execution of aircraft seat and cabin furniture testing in accordance with Thompson Aero Seating test plans Operation of test systems including – hydraulics, pneumatics, high speed cameras and lighting, data acquisition and state of the art dynamic test facility Equipment and facility maintenance - Ensure the equipment/instrumentation is in working order, well maintained, and ready for testing Work Area Maintenance – Maintenance of workspace in clean, ordered condition for efficiency of testing Monitor and record of data and observations, including photography, video Assist with the generation and review of reports Fabrication of test fixtures Assist with trouble shooting and problem solving This is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. Candidates must have hands on mechanical experience and proficiency with tools Proficient with various IT systems Problem solver / lateral thinker Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Strong organisational and analytical skills Good understanding of H&S practices Able to work under pressure with tight timescales Able to work flexibly on a wide range of projects at any one time Detail orientated with a good sense of initiative and intuition Willingness to work in a physical testing environment, including setup and execution of tests Desirable Experience in metal working and fabrication i.e. welding, cutting, grinding etc. Previous experience working within the aviation industry We reserve the right to enhance criteria on shortlisting.
