About the role
We are recruiting a Pharmacy Dispenser to work in one of Tesco's modern pharmacies. This role involves accurately dispensing prescription medicines, providing customer information and support, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and legal requirements.
Availability Window
* Sunday – 10:00 to 15:00
* Monday – 09:00 to 19:00
* Tuesday – 09:00 to 19:00
* Friday – 09:00 to 19:00
* Saturday – 12:00 to 19:00
Responsibilities
* Support the operation of a modern pharmacy.
* Apply technical skills and strong customer focus to accurately dispense medication.
* Ensure all dispensing is performed with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Engage confidently and professionally with customers, offering information and advice.
* Provide appropriate information on common ailments, symptoms and over‑the‑counter products.
* Explain product benefits in a way the customer can understand, selling only suitable products.
* Advise customers on the range of pharmacy services available.
* Support and deliver pharmacy services and the dispensing process in accordance with SOP.
* Assess the legal appropriateness of dispensed prescriptions.
* Respond to clinical and legal queries from healthcare practitioners within competence.
* Respond to customer queries regarding prescription medicines and inform the pharmacist of any complaints.
* Follow all dispensation routines and SOPs.
* Maintain clean, tidy and clutter‑free dispensary and consulting rooms.
* Ensure all prescription administration is accurate and completed on time.
* Bring promotional activities and company initiatives into the team.
* Protect profit and trade safely and legally by carrying out all procedures correctly.
* Complete corporate and departmental training.
* Keep up to date with legal and professional developments in pharmacy.
Qualifications
* Relevant experience or qualifications gained from working in a pharmacy environment.
* Desire to train and develop further in the pharmacy field.
