Senior Bookkeeper Are you an ambitious Bookkeeper hoping to be Finance Manager in the next few years? Location: Twickenham, office based with parking Hours: Monday to Friday - 9am to 5.30pm Salary: Up to £40,000 (depending on experience), "Dress for your day" policy, pension contribution matching, dog-friendly office, 25 days holiday and opportunity for quick promotion with support from the team. We are seeking a strong Senior Bookkeeper who is looking to progress into a more senior management finance position over the next few years. You will bring a positive, proactive approach to work and take pride in supporting a growing business with high standards of service and delivery. You will report directly to the Head of Finance. This role sits within a design‑led business that operates across London, the UK, and internationally. Role & Responsibilities Monitor the day-to-day financial operations alongside the Head of Finance. Liaise with external services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary, including HMRC. Review financial data and prepare monthly management accounts and draught year-end accounts. Prepare and present financial reports. Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes. Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation. Credit control and cashflow management. Prepare VAT returns. Accounts Payable - Verify and process AP invoices, credit notes and expenses and allocating to the correct Department/project. Accounts Receivable - Process client payments in Xero, producing daily sales reports. Support the Accountant with month‑end processes, financial reporting and project tracking. Skills & Requirements AAT Level 3/4, AAT Technician, or certified bookkeeping qualification or equivalent Essential: Xero experience, including related apps. Experience in AR and AP ledgers. Experience working on project‑based accounting is beneficial. Good understanding of business principles and data privacy standards.
