Job Title: General Ledger Accountant
Location: Ansty Park - Hybrid (4 days on-site)
Duration: 6 Months
Rate: £24.00 per hour
Security Clearance Required
Role Summary:
Our client is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join their finance team on a 6-month contract. This hybrid role, based at Ansty Park, offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the Record-to-Report (R2R) process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee core Record-to-Report (R2R) activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and SOX compliance.
2. Review and approve VAT returns, payroll journals, e-payable reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline.
3. Manage the monthly close process, including fixed asset reviews, capital expenditure analysis, and intercompany netting.
4. Provide guidance to junior and GL specialists, acting as accounting subject-matter expert and R2R manager back-up.
5. Partner with global site finance teams to meet SLA commitments and resolve escalated issues efficiently.
6. Analyse and report key financial KPIs to management, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
7. Drive process optimisation initiatives to enhance accuracy, control, and operational efficiency across finance functions.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
8. Part or fully qualified ACCA / CIMA
9. Experience in accounting role
10. Experience with SAP would be an advantage
11. Previous coordinating / managerial experience would be an advantage
12. Solid accounting knowledge
13. Team player mentality
14. Keen attention to detail
15. Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications
16. SAP knowledge advantageous
17. Willing to challenge processes
18. Good communication / presentation skills
19. Understanding of SOX beneficial
