Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and talented Fashion Designer to join the team at Box Menswear in Luton. This is an exciting opportunity to design for a globally recognised menswear brand, with a primary focus on underwear, sportswear, and loungewear.
Our customers are predominantly part of the LGBTQI+ community, and we celebrate creativity, inclusivity, and bold designs.
Box Menswear is a dynamic e-commerce brand specialising in men’s underwear and clothing. We pride ourselves on creating unique, high-quality designs and fostering a collaborative, fun, and forward-thinking work environment.
This role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with a start date as soon as possible. We understand that the successful candidate may need to honour a reasonable notice period.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design innovative and stylish menswear, focusing on underwear, swimwear, sportswear, and loungewear.
* Create detailed Tech Packs for overseas suppliers, ensuring clarity and precision.
* Communicate regularly with overseas suppliers regarding garment and sample amendments.
* Oversee the sampling process from concept to completion and see your designs go global.
* Collaborate with the team to refine ideas and deliver standout collections.
* Conduct trend and market analysis regularly.
* Ensure your designs are commercially viable with the brand's positioning.
* Collaborate cross-functionally and leverage transferable skills to represent the brand and translate designs into digital formats. Graphic Design will be part of this role.
What We Need From You:
* Strong passion for and experience in fashion design, ideally in men's apparel.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and a working knowledge of InDesign.
* Experience in creating Tech Packs for suppliers.
* Collaborative, open-minded approach with the ability to contribute to team ideas.
* Positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
Desirable but Not Essential:
* Interest in the commercial aspects of fashion design, including supplier relationships and negotiation.
* Keen interest in the global reach of your designs.
* Previous experience traveling abroad to meet suppliers.
* Basic knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel.
Why Join Us?
* Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 WFH).
* Flexible hours between 8 am and 9 am start, and 4 pm to 5 pm finish.
* Potential international travel to supplier locations and trade shows.
* Be part of a small team where achievements are celebrated.
* Relaxed, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.
* Opportunities for growth and recognition.
* Competitive holiday package and staff discounts.
Additional Information:
* Full-time, hybrid role based in Speke, Liverpool, with free parking.
* In-house designer position; freelance/self-employed candidates are not considered at this time.
* Role involves exposure to male bodies during product development and photoshoots.
* Initially, the role is for a single designer, with potential team expansion.
We value capability and creativity over formal education and welcome candidates from all backgrounds. If this sounds like the right role for you, we look forward to hearing from you!
Box Menswear is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive environment. Accommodations during the application process are available upon request.
The role begins with four weeks of in-office onboarding, followed by a flexible hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with in-office days as agreed with your manager.
