We are a highly successful 8-partner practice serving a population of over 15,600 patients in Pembrokeshire. We are looking to attract a salaried GP to join our cohesive and supportive team due to gradual expansion of our list size.

Main duties of the job
In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, administration and correspondence in a timely fashion. They will make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self‑referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
Undertake on‑call duty on a rota basis with other GPs.
Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease‑management protocols, develop care plans for health.
Provide counselling and health education.
Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.

We are a large practice of 15,600 patients covering a wide area of central Pembrokeshire. Based in the county town of Haverfordwest, we serve both the urban and surrounding rural population. Our 8 GP partners are supported by a multidisciplinary team including salaried GPs, advanced nurse practitioners, physiotherapists and a mental health counsellor. The practice also supports registrars in the local training scheme, providing a friendly and supportive learning environment.
Job responsibilities
* Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
* A commitment to lifelong learning and audit to ensure evidence‑based best practice.
* Contribute to evaluation, audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
* Contribute to development of computer‑based patient records.
* Contribute to summarising patient records and Read‑coding patient data.
* Attend training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
