We are seeking to appoint a Finance Assistant to provide efficient, accurate and timely financial administration support across the Trust, particularly in relation to ordering and invoicing. The responsibilities include managing the Trust purchase ledger function to ensure supplier invoices, payments and associated records are processed promptly, accurately and in line with Trust financial procedures, as well as supporting day-to-day financial activities and contributing to robust financial controls across all schools. The successful candidate will also deliver an efficient, knowledgeable, cooperative and helpful service to suppliers, staff, students and parents.
Our preferred candidate will have administration experience, ideally within a financial setting, with experience of maintaining financial records and using financial systems. They will be competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and have a good working knowledge of basic bookkeeping, with AAT qualification or a willingness to work towards this. The role requires strong numeracy skills and attention to detail, the ability to prioritise workloads, work accurately to deadlines and maintain confidentiality at all times. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team, follow established procedures, use initiative, and manage financial data and cash securely while adapting to new systems and working practices.
Salary: £26,403 – £28,142 (pay-award pending) dependent on skills and experience. Pro-rated to £23,844 -£25,415 per annum.
Start date: As soon as possible.
Terms and Hours: Permanent, 37 hours per week, term-time only plus 18 days (8 Professional Development Days and 10 holiday working).
Flexibility in working hours is available, and there may be the option for a job share, subject to the successful recruitment of two suitable candidates. Please specify your preferred working hours in your application.
