Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Educated to degree level or Certificate level of recognised CCAB body (or equivalent eg: AAT Qualified).
Desirable criteria
2. Studying for Diploma Qualification level of CCAB Accountancy body.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
3. Sound, demonstrable knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
Desirable criteria
4. Knowledge of the organisation’s objectives and activities Understanding of the NHS agenda and knowledge of NHS financial framework
Experience
Essential criteria
5. Previous management accounting experience or able to demonstrate in application and interview degree level experience / understanding of management accounting.
6. Previous experience of monitoring budgets and variance analysis or able to demonstrate in application and interview degree level experience / understanding of management accounting.
7. Previous experience of data manipulation (with large data sets) or able to demonstrate in application and interview degree level experience / understanding of management accounting.
Desirable criteria
8. Experience in the use of E-Financials software packages.
9. Experience in the use of Business Objects
10. Experience of developing activity, income and expenditure forecasts, including the modelling of different scenarios.
11. Previous management accounting experience within the NHS or able to demonstrate in application and interview degree level experience / understanding of management accounting within the NHS.
12. Previous experience of monitoring budgets and variance analysis or able to demonstrate in application and interview degree level experience / understanding of management accounting within the NHS.
13. Previous experience of data manipulation (with large data sets) or able to demonstrate in application and interview degree level experience / understanding of management accounting within the NHS.
Skills
Essential criteria
14. Ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information.
15. Computer literate with experience of using Microsoft office applications.
Desirable criteria
16. Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, required to design new and/or improve existing financial monitoring systems.

17. Ability to use initiative and demonstrate flexibility
18. Well organised with the ability to plan and prioritise own work in order to meet departmental deadlines.
19. Methodical approach and accurate in calculations and data input
