Overview

The Role
The Regional Nurse Training Lead plays a crucial role in driving clinical excellence and professional development across our Homes. This role blends elements of regional clinical support with a strong focus on training, coaching, and developing Registered Nurses and Care Teams. Working closely with Home Managers, the postholder will support the development of skilled, confident, and high-performing teams, ensuring high standards of person-centred care and regulatory compliance.


Main Responsibilities

* Work with the Director of Governance and the Learning, Development and Compliance Manager on the design, delivery, and evaluation of clinical training programmes for Registered Nurses and Care Teams, ensuring content is evidence-based and aligned with best practice.
* Collaborate with Home Managers to identify training needs and tailor development plans that strengthen team capability.
* Provide hands-on coaching, competency assessments, and clinical supervision to support skill development and confidence building.
* Partner with Home Managers to assess the strengths and development areas of Registered Nurses and Care Teams, helping to create structured development pathways.
* Support Home Managers in embedding robust clinical governance, safe practices, and effective induction for new staff.
* Help build teams clinical leadership by coaching senior carers, nurses, and clinical leads within the homes.
* Provide regional clinical expertise and support for complex cases, safeguarding matters, and areas requiring targeted intervention or upskilling.
* Participate in clinical audits and support Home Managers in embedding actions that enhance quality and compliance.
* Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team and Home Teams to align training initiatives across the organisation.
* Champion consistent, high-quality clinical practice and act as a role model for compassionate leadership.
* Help lead the implementation of new clinical policies, procedures, and initiatives across the region.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and training providers.

Required Criteria

* The Right to Work in the UK
* A Registered Nurse with active NMC registration
* Be able to demonstrate strong leadership ability in a key, demanding role
* Strong communication skills
* Minimum of 12 months experience in Care Home Management role
* Significant clinical experience within care or a similar setting
* Good understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks
* Proven experience of working to improvement methodology
* Proven experience in training mentoring or clinical education


Desired Criteria

* Teaching/training qualification
* Experience in multi-site clinical role
* Knowledge of quality improvement processes and change management
