An exciting opportunity has arisen at Riverside Heights, Darwen, for an office-based Extra Care Team Leader. The ideal candidate must be caring, dedicated, flexible, and possess a ‘can-do’ attitude, motivated to succeed, with the skills to inspire and cultivate the staff team.
Job specification
You will be responsible for:
* Managing a team of up to 15 care workers.
* Being the first point of contact for the Extra Care Team for any concerns or issues during shifts.
* Resolving issues and escalating them when necessary.
* Emergency on-call duties on a rolling rota to support the service.
* Conducting appraisals, supervisions, back-to-work interviews, and medication competencies to ensure adherence to Willowbrook Homecare’s policies and best practices.
* Occasionally working shifts to deliver high-quality care when needed.
The key to success in this role includes experience, enthusiasm, motivation, and a strong work ethic.
What we are looking for – Key skills and attributes:
* A passion for helping people and making a positive difference.
* A caring nature and strong personal values.
* Team leader/supervisor experience (preferred).
* At least 2 years’ experience in the Health & Social Care sector and a minimum QCF Level 2 qualification.
* IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft 365 (preferred) and Access (advantageous).
* A positive, proactive attitude and commitment to the role.
* Tactfulness, patience, creativity, and proactivity.
* Understanding of how people learn and a desire to help develop skills.
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
* Attention to detail and ability to complete thorough handovers.
* Must possess a full driving license and have suitable transport.
