Purchasing Lead Torbay | Around £30,000 10% bonus | 40 hours per week | Permanent Introduction Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Purchasing Lead. This hands-on role combines strategic procurement with day-to-day operational responsibility, ideal for someone looking to make a real impact across supply chain performance, cost control, and service delivery. Key Duties Vendor & Supplier Management Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including on-site and off-site visits. Develop and deliver supply chain initiatives and strategic improvements. Issue supply forecasts and monitor KPIs and supplier performance. Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers. Identify, onboard, and manage suppliers on an ongoing basis. Purchasing & MRP Oversee the purchasing and MRP process. Raise purchase orders for stock and ad-hoc requirements. Ensure process compliance and continuous improvement against KPIs. Liaise with Finance to ensure accurate PO matching. Maintain data integrity within the ERP system. Inventory Management Manage inventory levels to maintain service and reduce dead stock. Identify supply constraints and implement contingency plans. Support bi-annual stock takes alongside the Warehouse team. Monitor inventory value against budget and performance indicators. Leadership Lead, develop, and support the purchasing/supply chain team. Conduct annual performance reviews. Promote best practice and continuous improvement. Requirements Proven experience developing and managing procurement or supply chain strategies. Experience purchasing from and managing global suppliers. Leadership or team management experience. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Proactive, team-focused approach with strong attention to detail. Competent with Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems.
